The Meads is proud to support a vibrant programme of events taking place across Farnborough and the surrounding community this autumn, helping to celebrate local culture, heritage, diversity, creativity and community spirit.
From Pride and heritage celebrations to vegan markets, craft fairs and seasonal festivities, there is plenty for local residents and visitors to enjoy over the coming months.
The programme began with Rushmoor Pride on 19th September, bringing the community together to celebrate LGBTQ+ identity, inclusion and diversity. The Meads is delighted to support an event that promotes a welcoming and inclusive community for everyone.
Running between 11th-20th September, the Rushmoor Heritage Festival offered residents and visitors the opportunity to discover more about the area’s fascinating history and heritage. The festival celebrated stories, places and people that helped shape the local community.
On 27th September, the Kordia Vegan Market will bring a selection of vegan food, products and independent traders to the area. It will provide an opportunity for shoppers to discover something new when visiting The Meads, while supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs.
The community’s creativity will also be celebrated with the monthly Craft Fayre, taking place on the first Saturday of each month. Upcoming dates include October 3rd, November 7th and December 5th. Visitors can browse handmade goods, gifts and unique creations while supporting local makers and small businesses.
As autumn gets into full swing, Halloween celebrations beginning on October 26th will bring plenty of seasonal fun for families and visitors. The Meads is joining with the community in embracing the spooky season.
The autumn programme will also include Diwali on Friday 23rd October, celebrating the Festival of Lights and the rich cultural diversity of the local community. It will be an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together and enjoy this important celebration.
The season will conclude with the Farnborough Frost Fair on Saturday 21st November. The fair will bring a festive atmosphere and seasonal cheer to the town as the community begins to look ahead to Christmas!
